The three contracts at a glance
| No. | Contract | Setting | Objective | Finished (Steam) | Hard, no deaths |

| 02 | War-House | A syndicate-run harbor warehouse district with its own rail line | Free the captives, take out Boris Vadim and grab any intel on the Collectors | 27.1% | 0.3% |

Completion rates checked:
Contract 01: Outpost
The prologue. Thermal intel counts more than 20 hostiles inside the house and five patrolling outside. The captives have already been moved by the time you reach the basement, the server download upstairs brings a counter-attack, and pulling the data arms a charge that gives you 40 seconds to get out.
Contract 02: War-House
Intel puts more than 100 personnel on site. You clear the compound, patch a network laptop for warehouse security access, blow a shipping container open and go after Vadim before his ride out arrives.
Contract 03: Dinner Out
The handler sends you in through the back door. Malloy's office is on the far side of the restaurant, and the store page says the building keeps a dark truth below.
How contracts work
- Contracts launch from the contract terminal in The Hive. It stays locked until you have run every training course once.
- Before you leave you pick a loadout from the gun wall and holster it, then ride the elevator out. The briefing plays at the terminal.
- Each contract can be played on easy, normal or hard.
- Your phone is also your hacking tool: hold it near an access node (a glowing red dot inside a red ring) and the handler opens gates and pulls data remotely.
- Credits are scattered through each level (reviewers pick up 50- and 100-credit stacks) and paid out when you finish. You spend them on guns and attachments.
- Bullet time is on a limited meter you trigger yourself; on a controller it sits on the B button.
The story so far
You play the Gunman, the single operative of an old order that hands out justice where the law cannot reach; by its rules nobody may help him, which is where the Stand Alone name comes from. A handler talks you through each job over your phone. The three Early Access contracts follow the trail of the Collectors from a relay house to the harbor to a restaurant, and War-House's villain even name-checks Aaron Vask, the man the Gunman took down at the end of the original Half-Life: Alyx mod.
Challenge modes
Outside the story, 5 challenge maps run two modes: Takedown and Last Stand. Settings, leaderboards and what each mode asks of you are on the challenge modes page.
Contracts FAQ
How many contracts are in Gunman Contracts?
Three story contracts in Early Access: Outpost, War-House and Dinner Out. The developer plans at least three more as free updates before 1.0.
What order do the contracts go in?
Outpost (the prologue), then War-House, then Dinner Out. They tell one connected story about a trafficking ring called the Collectors, and Steam completion rates fall in that order: 68.9%, 27.1% and 13.7% of players.
What does Contract Master mean?
It is the achievement for finishing a contract on hard difficulty without getting killed. 3.5% of players have it for Outpost, 0.7% for Dinner Out and 0.3% for War-House.
Can you replay contracts?
Yes. You relaunch them from the contract terminal in The Hive, each has its own Steam leaderboard, and reviewers replay them to earn more credits for guns and attachments.
