Gunman Contracts Custom Music: Play Your Own MP3s

What the phone can do

The Gunman’s smartphone is on your wrist. Besides opening doors and pulling data in contracts, it has a music player and a camera. The store page lists a custom music feature, “play your own mp3 files in-game via the Gunman’s smartphone”, and reviewers note you can put any music on it.

The player starts with the game’s own soundtrack, so you can also use it to replay tracks you like.

Where the music folder is

A player on the Steam forum found the folder here:

...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Gunman Contracts - Stand Alone\GunmanContracts_Data\StreamingAssets\UserMusic

The easiest way to open it: in Steam, right-click the game, choose Manage, then Browse local files, and go into GunmanContracts_Data, then StreamingAssets, then UserMusic.

Adding songs

  1. Close the game.
  2. Copy your .mp3 files into UserMusic.
  3. Launch the game and open the music player on the phone.

Another player confirmed MP3s added this way work. The in-game tips list in The Hive also points you to the game files for instructions.

Custom wallpaper

The same tips mention changing the phone’s wallpaper through a UserImages folder. At launch, one player reports that images placed there did not show up, and there are no instructions on required size or format. Treat it as not working yet; we will update this page when it is fixed or documented.

Does music affect anything?

No. It is cosmetic. The game’s own action music still kicks in during fights.
